Limited Seat's Hurry up!

INDUSTRY 4.0 FORUM & EXHIBITION

REMAKING INDONESIA

Indonesia’s industry has been growing at under 5% for most of the past decade, much lower than the overall economy. More worrying is the contribution of the manufacturing industry to national GDP which has dropped from 27.4 percent in 2007 to 21 percent in in the third quarter of 2017.

There is therefore an urgent need to revive the manufacturing sector in order to create more and better paying jobs, raise economic competitiveness, boost innovation and generate greater economic benefit for the nation.

While the manufacturing sector did see some growth in the second quarter of 2018 on the back of domestic demand, the longer-term outlook is not so rosy. Despite greater demand, employment was stagnant. Falling exports are also a great concern amongst manufacturers despite a weaker currency.

So what does the future hold for the country’s industrial sector? How can Indonesia be a player in the new industrial age? Can the country compete on the global stage?
The Indonesia Economic Forum Cikarang will focus on some of these main themes and discuss solutions that will drive growth, create better paying jobs and the realization of the government’s “Making Indonesia 4.0” roadmap. The design of the “Remaking Indonesia 4.0″ roadmap involved stakeholders from various segments, including the government, industry players, industry associations, tech companies, Fintech, as well as research and educational organizations.
